In an effort to boost the Drone industrial sector, the Madhya Pradesh government has introduced a comprehensive drone policy offering a 100% waiver on stamp duty and registration fees for land intended for industrial purposes. Additionally, businesses can receive up to Rs 5 lakh annually, capped at Rs 20 lakh, to support capital costs related to testing, calibration, and certification throughout the policy’s duration.

To promote innovation, the state is incentivizing patent applications by covering costs up to Rs 5 lakh for domestic patents and Rs 10 lakh or the actual expenses for international drone patents.
Furthermore, mega-scale enterprises that invest over Rs 50 crore will qualify for even greater incentives. Officials project that these initiatives will attract Rs 370 crore in investments over the next five years, creating approximately 8,000 new jobs—2,200 direct and 6,600 indirect.
With the global drone market anticipated to surge from $71 billion in 2022 to $144 billion by 2030, India’s market is expected to expand from $2.71 billion to $13 billion in the same period. Drones are already making significant contributions across varied sectors, including agriculture, defense, logistics, and infrastructure.
Given that 90% of Indian airspace is classified as ‘Green Zone’ for drone operations, this technology has the potential to drive economic growth, generate jobs, and enhance service delivery across both urban and rural communities.
Madhya Pradesh aims to harness drone technology to enhance efficiency, lower costs, and stimulate innovation, positioning the state as a frontrunner in the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) market. The state government will offer financial assistance in the form of subsidies and tax incentives for drone manufacturers and service providers that establish operations locally.
In precision agriculture, drones can revolutionize crop monitoring and assist in pesticide and fertilizer application, ultimately leading to increased agricultural productivity. They also hold promise in infrastructure and logistics through improved surveying and mapping processes, enhancing accuracy while reducing overall costs.
Moreover, drones play a crucial role in enhancing surveillance and monitoring efforts, facilitating law enforcement, traffic oversight, disaster response, and crowd management.
Madhya Pradesh is committed to integrating drones into its public safety framework, ensuring rapid responses during emergencies.
